Projects

During 2009, Foresight North's main focus will be on creating competitive intelligence and strategic insights for startups and investors. Our main goal is to contribute to accelerate the growth and success of early stage startups, and to foster the development of scalable and dynamic eco-systems in the North.

Foresight North will address the above by running a series of online surveys assessing the critical issues contributing to investment readiness in emerging niche technology markets in the UK. These series of surveys will also address key global, economic and social issues. Firms invited to participate in the surveys will gain unique strategic insights, which will be drawn from an active startup and investment community.

We are also interested in undertaking the following type of activities and projects:

1. Strategic foresight and scenario building workshops that could inform the drafting of relevant innovation policies and private initiatives.
2. Market research and business model redesign enabled by new technologies and their applications.
3. Studies benchmarking venture capital and innovation management practices.
4. Projects promoting knowledge transfer between public and private actors.
